Ms. Birkman has been teaching in Wilson since 2022. She received her Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree from SUNY Buffalo State and her Master of Music in Music Education degree from SUNY Fredonia. When she is not teaching, Ms. Birkman enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and cat. She can also be found performing in various community ensembles around Western New York.
Mrs. Mercurio received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from SUNY Fredonia and her Master of Music Education Degree from the University at Buffalo. She started working at Wilson CSD in 2006 and has taught all levels of education in instrumental, choral, and general music classrooms. She also performs locally as a solo artist and in various performing groups.
Mr. Ferguson is the PreK-5 general music teacher at Wilson Elementary School, as well as the
choir director for grades 3-5. He grew up playing music, focusing on percussion, piano, and
guitar, and received his Bachelor of Music in Music Education from DePaul University. He has
since returned to his home of Western New York to work with Wilson. While not teaching, he
finds himself playing music, going on hikes, and rooting for the best football team, the Buffalo
Bills.
Miss Juzdowski has been teaching in Wilson since September of 2025. She graduated from Buffalo State University in 2025. Miss Juzdowski has both local and international teaching experience and has completed research regarding Social Emotional Learning, as well as the impact rhythmic chanting has on vocabulary acquisition for English Language Learners (ELL). She loves singing and studying music, but some of her favorite things that aren’t music are cuddling with her cat, reading books, and enjoying time outdoors!
