Deadlines for Absentee/Early Mail Ballot Applications
Mail-in applications: Must be received by the District Clerk no later than 7 days before the vote — Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
In-person applications: If you hand-deliver the application, it must be received by the District Clerk no later than the day before the vote — Monday, May 18, 2026. Absentee Ballots may only be given to the individual who completed the application.

Completed absentee or early mail ballots: Must be received back by the District Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on Election Day — Tuesday, May 19, 2026 — to be counted.

The May ballot will have the following openings for candidates to the Board of Education.
Three (3) Members of the Board of Education, each with a term of three (3) years to commence on July 1, 2026, and continue through and including June 30, 2029 (expires as of July 1, 2029).

What motivates you to want to become a school board member?
I have always been a service-minded person. I had strong community involvement years ago while raising my children in Wilson. I only stopped when work and other family obligations with my parents took priority. I have always been interested in running for the Board, but was waiting for the right time so that I could put my full attention on it. The time has come.
What particular experiences or skills have prepared you to serve as a board member?
For over two decades, I have worked with the special needs and vulnerable communities and their families, both for work and volunteering my time. I have been in numerous Niagara County cities and town committees to assist in providing good quality and the best opportunities for people in need, both physically and mentally, of all ages, but mainly concentrated on children aged 0-21.
Some of the positions and experiences I have held are as follows:
The most important experience I have had is that I have raised 5 children in the Wilson Central School system, beginning in 1988 and ending in 2011. I was very involved in the schools during their education.
I worked as a teacher’s aide in the O/N BOCES system, working with behaviorally challenged K-5 students.
I worked for the Niagara County Health Department’s Children with Special Needs Department, where I independently coordinated and executed two resource and financially based state grant programs: Children With Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) and the Physically Handicapped Children Program (PHPC), and was an Outreach and Resource Specialist for special needs families and the Early Intervention Program. I was also a 1:1 aide in the County’s preschool for special needs students as needed.
I worked as a Health Home Community Coordinator for a program that was housed at the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center’s Golisano Building. In this position, I developed, initiated, and coordinated a statistically based Peter & Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation Grant titled “Close the Gaps.” I provided assessments, support, and resources for families with children aged 0-5 with possible developmental disabilities through referrals obtained by various types of outreaches. I attended CPSE meetings for elementary school children with IEP/504 plans as a parent liaison. I educated parents to navigate the resources needed for their children in need. I was a participant in numerous committees for early intervention prevention throughout Niagara County. I attended many outreach events in Niagara County.

Founded and led a five-town clothing drive for National Make a Difference Day, utilizing schools’ PTAs, National Honor Society groups, PIG participants, local fire companies, churches, and local Cub Scouts. This started in Wilson and grew into the surrounding schools and communities’ participation.
Created Every Family’s Journey, a regional support network for families with special needs activities, including organizing community events, resource fairs, and family support programs throughout Niagara County.

What motivates you to want to become a school board member?
As an engaged citizen of the District and a proud alumnus of Wilson High School, I want to do my part to preserve the things that make our schools the wonderful institutions that they are and ensure that they always continue to meet the needs of our students.
What particular experiences or skills have prepared you to serve as a board member?
Through my experiences in academia and industry, I have acquired skills that I believe make me an ideal candidate to serve on the Board of Education. I have experienced the Wilson Central School District as a student, which I believe affords me an important familiarity with and respect for the importance of this institution and its services to our community. In order to complete my research projects in my career as a cancer research scientist, I have had to learn and employ fundamental techniques from data science and mathematics, which I believe make me well-suited to participating in a decision-making process informed by both public opinion and real-world data. Furthermore, having taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels to students with technical and non-technical backgrounds, I have a familiarity with the realities of the instructional process. Finally, to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of researchers, I have had to develop my written, oral, and visual communication skills, learn to write straightforward reports and publications, give organized presentations, and design clear figures.
In what school district or community activities/organizations have you been involved?
I graduated from Wilson High School as a valedictorian in 2020. During my time at WHS, I participated in multiple varsity sports, played saxophone in the band, participated in multiple musical and theatrical productions, participated in multiple clubs as both a member and a leader, and, perhaps most relevant to this position, served on the student council and as class president for two of my four high school years. The breadth of my high school interests allowed me to develop a deep familiarity with a significant amount of important and enriching activities, both academic and extracurricular, facilitated by the school District and the hardworking people behind it.
Additionally, and most importantly for this position, I have served as a Trustee on the Wilson Central School District Board of Education since September of 2022.

I grew up in Wilson, but through my education and travel experiences, I have developed a keen awareness and profound appreciation for the many things that make our vibrant, beautiful, and friendly community so special. Foremost among those are our schools, which are a focal point for so much of our community life. If given the opportunity to continue on the Board of Education, I would remain a fierce advocate and humble steward of this most cherished institution.
