2020-2021 School District Budget Vote & Election

Per New York State Governor's Executive Order No. 202.26 the 2020-2021 School District Budget Vote and Election of Board Members will take place by absentee ballot only. Absentee Ballots (2 per household) will be mailed out late May 2020. Should your household require additional ballots for qualified voters, please call 751-9399 not later than June 1, 2020 so that a ballot can be mailed out. Eligible voters are 18 years of age, resident of the Wilson District 30 days prior to the date of the election, citizen of the United States. All ballots must be received by the District Clerk no later than 5:00 PM on June 9, 2020 to be counted.


Candidates wishing to run for Board of Education (three open seats for 2020-2021) should submit their name to the District Clerk, 374 Lake Street, Wilson NY, not later than 4:00 PM on May 11, 2020. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, resident of the Wilson District for at least one year prior to election, able to read and write, US citizen, not a current employee of the school board, not been removed from any school district office within the preceding year, may not reside with another member of the same school board as a member of the same family, and may not simultaneously hold another incompatible pubic office.


Please note the annual budget hearing is May 26, 2020 at 6:30 PM, Room 18 at the Middle School and the budget vote and election is June 9, 2020 by absentee ballot. Absentee ballots will be mailed to all district residents at the end of May. 

The correct annual meeting notice should appear in the Niagara Gazette and Lockport Journal on May 9 and May 21, 2020.
