BUILDING BASED SUBSTITUTE TEACHER

Wilson Elementary School

POSITION EFFECTIVE:

September 2024

PAY RATE:

$130/day Certified Teacher

$110/day Uncertified Teacher

APPOINTMENT STATUS:

Temporary, Per Diem

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficiency with personal computer, Chromebooks and instructional equipment
• Broad experience with a variety of instructional techniques
• Demonstrated ability to reach all types of learners
• The ability and commitment to use technology as an instructional tool
• Evidence of effective classroom management skills with age appropriate experiences
• Excellent communication skills; approachable, friendly and available
• Current New York State Teaching Certification (Preferred)

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Will report as a permanent building substitute and take over the daily duties and responsibilities of a classroom teacher. Can be assigned at the discretion of the building Administrator to any classroom and any teacher-related job duty.

FOOD SERVICE HELPER - MONITORS

STATUS:

Part-time when school is in session

ESTIMATED START DATE:

September 2024

SALARY + BENEFITS:

$16.07/hr + paid time off per CSEA CAFÉ Agreement

Yearly uniform allowance

Longevity stipend

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to follow directions and execute tasks

• Ability to get along well with children and command their respect

• Good computer knowledge

• Ability to perform basic math functions

• Good hygiene and neat appearance

• Must be able to stand for duration of scheduled shift

• Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds

• Background check and fingerprint clearance through Identogo / TEACH (New York State Education Department).

 TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES

(Illustrative Only):

Performs a wide variety of duties in the cafeteria such as: preparation of food, cleaning the kitchen, unloading the dishwasher, serving food, supervising meal periods.  May also be assigned as a cashier. Performs other duties as assigned.
